All right folks, are you ready for this? Today is a VERY exciting day. Because I declare it National (and International for you Canucks) Comment on Kayli's Blog Day! Fun fun fun. Fun for you, fun for me, for the entire human race (okay, maybe not, but that's how the lyrics go). So, how this works. You leave a comment--witty, funny, informative, or boring. And I read it and smile. Okay, if you need an idea, tell your most embarrassing moment. Or your first kiss. Or something you read in National Geographic once.
And just because I am nice (and not because I think you need an incentive), I am offering to some lucky one who comments this prize:
It is a soft white baby blanket (afghan I suppose would be more precise) with purple flowers that I started making YEARS ago before Hazel was born. I got it close to finished except for the tying down of the flowers and petals. Then I picked it up and worked on it a tiny bit before Ethne was born. But didn't finish it. Then I finally got it out again and finished it off.
So, to be eligible for this giveaway, you must make a comment. And I'm not promising to use a random number generator to choose the winner, either, so think hard about perhaps offering much flattery, chocolate, or promises to clean my house.
Anyone who doesn't want the blanket, it's still International Comment on Kayli's Blog Day, so a comment is still obligatory, whether you're friend or foe, sister or stranger. And the flattery and chocolate would still not be a bad idea.
Thank you. Have a nice day.
(And a disclaimer on the blanket--it's got a lot of ends sticking out the back. The back is not pretty. But the front is. And it's probably just a decor thing, not so much a wrap-your-baby-in blanket, since it's got all those bumpy flowers.)

Ha! I get the first comment!
So this is a random stranger (One of Andrea's roommates from BYU- we have actually met once before and Becky's sister- you at least know of Becky). Anyways- I think that I should get the afgan because I am the first person to comment, and because I am so dang cute. The only problem is I just have two stinky little boys, so the pretty things is life are wasted in our home. So I guess I give you permission to pick some one else.
Also while looking at your blog my little Coen was very excited about the cow picture. I have decided to put one of me milking a cow as a wee little lass on my page as yours made me so happy. Happy International Comment on Kayli's Blog Day- wishing you all the best.
Well, I don't need the blanket because I have a TON already, but I'll still make a comment. :) I'm so glad we have kept in touch and get to see each other here and there. Any news on official finishing up? Kent has started his application and now only needs to take the GRE to finish it up. Hope you and Talmage are recovering well!
I just want to comment because I love your blog.
I have commmented before...I am the person who lives near Washington DC.
I like your blog because you talk about reality in life when it comes to raising kids, being msrried, having a family that does not live near and being active in your faith.
Have you ever read about Stephanie Nielson and her NieNie Dialogues? Her blogging was just as realistic as yours and just as inspiring.
Her information is now updated on her sister's blog, http://blog.cjanerun.com/, but I am sure she will be back one day soon.
Thanks Kayli for making us all smile.
Jane
Kayli, I've got a million blankets, but I'm commenting anyway as ordered! Here's what I love about your blog:
Fabulous photos. Darling children. Hilarious anecdotes. A healthy dose of reality (it cracked me up when you were talking about your floor, and how you still weren't going to clean it). And of course, the fabulous writing! I'm excited to see you as a published author (hopefully Andrea's contacts will pull through!!)
Kayli--I will take your advice and write about my first kiss. Oh wait... I don't NEED to because you are such a nosey sister you ASKED me about it the MORNING AFTER it happened! Is that sisterly intuition? Or just plain rudeness? Either way, I love reading your blog, you are super awesome, I am sorry you were sick when you came to visit otherwise it would've been even more super-fun! Read me blog, PS cause I wrote some super cool quotes on it.
Hey Kayli,
The blanket is very cute, but I can't think of anything to comment on except that I love reading your blog to!
Shari
Oh my GOSH Kayli!!! I can't believe that you would give away one of your babies. {When you work on something THAT long....I always count it as a baby!}
And I can't believe MY luck in having the chance to WIN it!! Yahoo!! {As they say up here in my parts.}
Hey Kate--you finished something?? I swear you wrote a book, made a baby blanket, probably fed your kids at least once today. At this rate you are going to ruin your reputation as a lazy-good-for-nothing.
Um...I went to write on an old friend of mine's blog today and I said, "hey Meredith..." but her name is not Meredith, its Elizabeth. Her husband's sister is named Meredith.
Oh, and on Sunday, during RS, when they were making the announcements about craft Saturday, I was thinking: "why would craft day be on the same day as Thanksgiving?" I seriously thought that this coming Saturday was Thanksgiving. (My husband said, "why would you think that when Thanksgiving is always on a THURSDAY)? I don't know. I'm losing my mind. This last Saturday when we did our grocery shopping, I was even thinking, "Oh Thanksgiving is this next Saturday, I'd better buy the foods I need so that they're not all gone." I'm actually kind of bummed that I have to wait until Thursday.
So after years of work you are just giving the blanket away? I'm impressed.
Kayli......cute blob um I mean Blog.
Keep the blanket it is beautiful. Similar to the one and only that that Grandma made that I think Kara has?
Anyways it would be a shame to give away something handmade by you.
Add me to your blog too!`
Rocki
Why would I not comment after being ordered to. I must be a sheep and follow the others. lol Oh dear, I'm in a strange mood.
I love reading your blog because it reminds me of life in Indiana which I miss sooo much. Don't get me wrong, I love it here too, but I miss our friends and life in Indiana also. Why can't I have the best of both worlds? Anyway, that is a beautiful blanket. I have an afghan that I've been working on crocheting off and on since I was in High School. I wonder if I'll ever really finish it. lol Anyway, keep up posting because what would life be without having friends' blogs to read regularly.
Haiku for Kayli
a mother you are
a blogger you have become
we will worship you
Well, I am having a girl in hopefully less than 8 weeks.
If I still lived by you I would bring you some yummy dessert or chocolate.
I saw a brown Mercedes one day and thought, "hey, it's Kayli" and then I was sad because I realized it couldn't be:(
I think you should give me some name ideas since you're good at picking out names.
Didn't you want me to knit a hat for Talmage or something? I'll still do it if you tell me what you want.
okay, that's all the random comments I can think of right now. I love reading your blog!
I don't need a blanket. But I can't resist following the crowd. Everyone's doing it. It's the "in" thing to do. I'll be shamed and mocked if I don't leave one. Oh, what to do, what to do? I'm not clever and witty so I don't know what to say. I know.
HI KAYLI!
There, I did it! I'm so proud of me! (boy, I think I need to go to sleep.)
P.S. I think Christy's is the best. I mean, writing a haiku? How cool is that?
Very cute blanket. I am glad to participate in this Nationsl comment day as a Canadian living in the States. You are very talented, I love looking at all the cute pics you get of your kids. Mine won't or rarely won't let me take fun cute pics of them. Hazel looks like the perfect little model for you. Keep the pics coming.
Kayli,
I LOVE your blanket!! Now I want to make one of my own. I guess that is why I should be highly considered as the possible recepient - I need a template of sorts so I can see what to do. (not a truely good reason - I know, but it's all I could think of) I should probably be offering YOU a blanket or something instead for agreeing to work the Christmas party for me - not to mention agreeing to take our family pictures (someday, when the weather cooperates). You are a wonderful amazing person - and blow me away with how creative and talented you are (and I'm not just sucking up by saying that - it's really how I feel!) Anyway, Happy National Comment on Kayli's Blog Day!
The blanket is adorable, but I vote for Christy's comment. Gotta love a good haiku!
I'm enjoying seeing all the pics of your kids especially since I don't see you on Sundays anymore. :)
look at all the comments! how fun. how sweet of you to give away something you worked so hard on. you are kinder than I am. I love your blog. and if I ever come your way again I will bring you more Canadian chocolate bars. yum.
you are the most witty, wonderful, FABULOUS, humerous, lovely, of good report... praiseworthy (hmm does that sound familiar?)and we should all try to emulate your exceptional example as a incredible woman, wife, mother and all around great cousin! hey how was that?
ps. I really don't need another blanket I just wanted to say hi :)
RUFF. Ruff. Bow Wow. Wow.
Josh now claims that he can't climb up on the couch because he is too small. No that this is important or anything. I just thought you'd want to know.
Wow, the DOW just dropped below 8000. Not that many would care. I think that if I were to win such a blanket I would have to give it right back. Because really, you have two girls and I have none. And you did so much work on it.
Kayli, I've been a secret follower of yours ever since you told me about your blog. I haven't commented because I was attempting to create a blog for myself that was respectable and was finally worthy of your perusal. I don't think I have attempted it yet, but you've forced me out and I just have to make an attempt at your luscious handmade blanket. Did i miss the cutoff though?
Love you!
Miss you!
Nicole
Hi Kami,
You did an amazing job! Hmmm embarrassing moments are quite often around here for me, as I do something quite embarrassing constantly, but funny how I don't really get too embarrassed anymore. This one happened just the other week. Around here I bust out singing over nothing,I mean really loud blow your ears out singing, and I like to make up my own songs quite often, usually about the things we are doing, or who is with me, etc. (Ask my husband as he looks at me quite weirdly sometimes.) Sometimes I don't even realize I have busted out in song as it really is quite a frequent thing. :D haha Weird I know. Sooo we were standing in the line at Wal-Mart, and as all the other lines were really full, we picked the shortest which happened to be the smoking line. Just a little useless information. My baby started to get antsy, and my other two were wiggling around, and soo I thought I was just bouncing my baby, and since I was standing sideways, I could see the sruffyish old man standing behind me staring at me quite strangely. I was thinking, "What is his problem?" when I suddenly realized I was singing and pretty loudly some crazy madeup song, I can't remember the words right now, something along "Big Brother, Big Brother, Baby Brother, Babbby Brother..." :D hahaha
LOL whoops Kayli, I meant Kayli :D
Another Haiku for Kayli...since you decided to add more days to your exciting day.
i love the blanket
beauty beyond compare but
i don't want to win
Thanks for the votes in the comments, peeps!
You are to funny what a fun post! You are a busy talented mom aren't you!! And your kids are so dang cute! Love the wordless wednesday pics! Awesome! You guys have to much fun!
Oh yea, I'll comment....although, I don't nessesarily want or need a baby blanket. You should keep it for yourself. You put in a lot work/procrastination you put into it!

we both know christy.
we both have red-heads.
we both have a hazel.
that's all i got. is it enough?
