Mm mm mm MOHAWK!

It was a day for mohawks. (Starting with the baby, actually, and then it went from there.)

Oh, and that's me and my baby, even though I don't have a mohawk.  But I should try one sometime.though.

A Boy Worth Gushing Over.

Every tiny SPECK of this boy is just sooooooo delicious!!!  Each little finger, his sweet little nose, his gorgeous eyes, his razor-sharp little teeth, grabby little hands, slobbery little lips--I just want to kiss him to pieces!

Aaaaaaaghh - I LOVE his little scrunch-nose smile!!

He's now crawling on his hands and knees, pulling himself up on the tub and the couch and sticking all kinds of fun things from all sorts of places in his mouth.  :)

I love Wyatt!

p.s. This blog is actually, at this moment, 100% caught up--no pictures anywhere left to upload! This hasn't happened since before I left to Utah this spring!  Woohoo!

Ramble Jamble of Pictures

Ethne wanted us to wear our matching shirts. I just looove Orrin's cute little face peeking out from behind Ethne. :)  And did you notice Hazel on the couch with a kleenex on her head?  She's an odd one, that Hazel.

If you have older sisters, you have to be dressed up once in a while, it's just how it is.

 He's cute.

He loves the Christmas tree.

And those cinnamon ornaments we made last year are pretty tasty according to him.

Orrin ready to ski (apart from not having skis, of course).

I have been super impressed with Orrin's coloring lately.  Especially this falcon, which at first I thought he colored all by himself with no help, but later found out that Ethne did do a bit of it.  Still- it's pretty fantastic.  But not as fantastic as Orrin's faces when I told him to smile!

This is my kids singing a song at our ward Christmas party.  Then I played a duet with a friend, Lori, and Orrin whined and came up to the piano and wanted to sit on my lap (Brett was in the kitchen slicing ham), and so I just sat him down on the floor by the piano and said, "See- you're right by me" and then we started playing.  And in the middle of the song he started crawling in between my feet and the piano and he pushed down the damper pedal for a few seconds, so then I was trying to play and keep him away from the pedals with my feet.  It was awesome because then we could blame all of our mistakes on him.  :)

We made sure to go to Migros, the grocery store, on Dec. 6, Samichlaus Tag, to see Sammichlaus and Schmutzli.

He asked if I was from America, and said he remembered us from last year:

 Kids playing.

The great Christmas tree search

So on Saturday (two Saturdays ago I think?) we went to Bauhaus to buy a Christmas tree.  The trees are really expensive and really not so pretty.  So then we looked at getting a fake one, but we thought it was pretty silly to get one now.  So then I said, "Why don't we just do what Beat and Kathrin do, and go find a tree in the forest?"  You aren't allowed to CUT one down, but you can find some that are already down, where they've been cutting/thinning the forest--realizing your tree is going to be extremely not perfect-- and so we decided to do that.

We had fun and when your options are extremely limited, you are pretty pleased with the first roundish tree you find.  :)

It's a pretty ugly tree, and even though we could have trimmed a few branches here and there to make it a bit more symmetrical, the kids wouldn't have it.  They love the tree as is.  I think the moral of this story is that Brett and I are great big cheapskates.

Oooooh!  Aaaaaah!
