The hike that wasn’t.

So on Saturday we didn’t have any commitments anywhere so I said we must make use of such a day and go to a mountain!  So we drove to Gantrisch which is the mountain we can see from our window.

It was raining, but we thought it might quit.  When we got to the parking lot it was still raining, and so we sat in the car for a bit and wondered if we should just go home.  But then it stopped, so we all got out and I got my camera out and got everyone situated for a picture and then realized I hadn’t put the battery back in it.  Luckily we now have a camera on Brett’s phone.

So I took a few pictures as we started up the trail.

It was really really windy and cold.  We weren’t really prepared for that.  The sky was dark in every direction.

Orrin was super cute in his backpack.

It started raining again right when we got to the car.  Then we went home.  Curse you dumb weather that’s beautiful all week and then rainy on Saturday!!  We did take a little walk a bit later in the day through the woods, and Hazel was trying to think of Indian names for everyone.  We called her Wet Bottom after she went pee and didn’t squat quite good enough.  ;)

These pictures are from this morning.

And your photographs continue to be breathtaking! Both of children and of the landscapes.

I love looking at your photos. It makes me wish I took better pictures. (Maybe I will master that by the time I have grandkids.)

Hi, I am a new follower of your blog. Your photos... and your family :) ...are gorgeous!

We fell in love with Switzerland when we spent some time in Davos a couple of years ago.

We hope to be expats in Europe again one day just so we can return.
