So. A while ago we went to Austria. We really really lucked out because our hotel was in a gorgeous spot. We didn’t really even know where it was, we just booked it online, but it was at the end of a road, and you just went out the door and walked right onto some trails and it was just beautiful.
When we booked it, we got an apartment that was supposed to sleep 4-5 or something like that, but then they said there was a double booking so they asked if we would take two rooms and have free breakfast, so of course we thought that would be great. So the boys got one room and the girls got the other (plus Orrin, of course). So in the morning Brett needed something from my room, so he went out to the deck and hopped over into my deck (see below) and came in and got it. I half woke up when he came in, so I noticed that he took Orrin back with him. But in a little bit when the girls woke up I said, “Where’s Orrin? He was right here?” and Hazel got a little scared before I told her. hee hee.
So Thursday morning when Brett went to his meeting, the kids and I walked around and had a great time (well, aside from Ethne who whined a lot of the time).
So we got to this little pond and sat on the dock and were impressed when we could see some fish swim by.
And then some guy came by us and threw a bit of bread in and suddenly all these fishes were just swarming around like crazy. It was pretty crazy. And I kept taking more pictures because it was kindof fascinating.
Ducks vs. Fish
Then some cows wandered by.
So I told Hazel to go pet one, and being the brave girl she always is, she did.
Then Hazel had to go to the bathroom, so I took her into the restaurant that was there and it was really cool and I wanted to take pictures of it, but I was too intimidated by the guys who worked there and so I settled for a picture of me and Orrin in the bathroom while we waited for Ethne.
The cows on the trail.
The cows wandering around the restaurant.
Find the duck.
Then we went back to the hotel and watched cartoons while we waited for Brett to get home. And then he came home and I thought Wow!!
Then we drove into Innsbruck (we were a little outside of it in Mösern) and we had a great dinner with some fellow expats who live there. We really enjoyed ourselves and our kids had fun bossing their little girl around. :) I was a little sad that Talmage had fallen asleep on our way there, otherwise we could have had a walk – the area they lived in was just gorgeous.
And that was the first day.

wow!! your kids speaking german fluently is amazing! and Hazel is so cute! Of course she is in pics, but in a video, her personality shows a bit. What a sweetheart. btw- i love her blinks and jaw bone (weird, yes, but true)
What a beautiful area to walk around. It is so, so beautiful there. Fun for the kids to see the fish and cows etc. And- they have cow bells on like the Swiss cows!!! Glad you could go.
