Jethro’s Baptism

So, Jethro got baptized in July on his birthday.  (I didn’t post about it yet because I was waiting for someone in our ward to email me one picture.)  I’m so proud of him, and it was wonderful to have some family here to support him.  You can go here or here to learn about why this was such an important day for Jethro.

For his birthday Jethro got two history books- which is what he asked for.  They are pretty cool, I’d recommend them.  He also got some other things including legos and the first Harry Potter book.  He is now addicted to reading in a serious way.  I love Jethro and am so proud of him!!

p.s. I am ashamed to admit this, but to be honest, the evening of Jethro’s baptism I got in a tiff with Brett and was sooo SOOO mad at him that I was completely in the wrong spirit the for the whole thing.  I was so ornery and really let it ruin the evening for me.  Learn from my mistake— don’t ever do this!

No way -- Jethro is 8!? Wow. It seems like only yesterday we were drawing rockets in sunbeam class together. Very spiritual rockets, of course.

Anyway, congratulations! Way to commit, Jethro!

Very cool. COngrats to Jethro for making the right decision.

And about your PS......thanks for sharing that. It's good to know that you guys are totally normal. ; D It happens to ALL of us. And thanks for the inspiration to record it so that your children (my children and all children) can "learn" from it.

Congratulations, Jethro! Tyler has been talking about reading the HP books, but I didn't know if they would be too much for him. I was thinking maybe the 1st or 2nd one, but then they start getting pretty scary. Knowing that Jethro is reading it may make it easier for me to let go and let him get into bigger kids books more. :)

Congratulations on the baptism. We're getting closer to having one of our own, OH, and I wanted to tell you pioneer woman is giving away a nikon (if you like that kind of thing) but you have to enter today by noon (who knows what time that is in Switzerland time). Good luck, it sounds like your camera isn't going to make it much longer...

Kayli, Hi this is Lexie, Andrea Davis' sister. You never know which weird people are reading your blog. :) I actually just like to skim blog by mom's that I consider "fun" once in awhile to get ideas. I have a son turning 8 next month and am very interested to know what the history books you got your son are??? If you had time to email me at thill@silverstar.com I would really appreciate it. :) By the way, you have such CUTE kids and it looks like your family is having a wonderful adventure. Enjoy!
