I don’t think I mentioned this before, but part of the fun of our vacation is that we had our friends the Burris with us! For the Brela Beach part anyway. Earlier in the year when we were talking about going to Croatia, they said that they wanted to come, and I was like AWESOME! So they booked a room right next to ours, see? That’s their deck adjoining ours. We love the Burris (and have vacationed with them before) and really loved that they were there too. Every night after we put the kids to bed, Brett and I went over to their apartment and played games. We taught them Speed and Manos, and Kathrin had such a good time she was crying. :)
Although we missed their older two daughters, Melinda and Damaris. But they brought their neighbor Alyna who is also cool.
Sea urchin. Very spiny—don’t step on one!
Our air mattress was a huge hit. We did lots and lots of swims around the cove with them on it.
Jethro caught a few crabs.
He always grew very attached. :)
This is what the beach looks like from farther up.
We got a lot of yummy food at the market.
Fresh fig.
More playing in the water.
Alyna and I snorkeled around the cove, out to the rock (that’s me on the rock), dove off the rock,
went under a cave (okay, more like a very short passage, but still it was waaaay cool), and found this secret hideaway.
We let Jethro swim in our secret hideaway too.
BEAUTIFUL.
Alyna and I climbed up this rock (which is actually very large, although it doesn’t look like it in the picture) and killed our feet. But it was fun.
I think it’s a sign of a good vacation when there’s snorkel gear hanging up on the hook by your door.
Brett says I have a few too many waves-on-the-shore pictures, but I had so much fun taking them, and I think they’re lovely.
I was trying to get Talmage to stand up so I could take a picture, and all he would do for awhile was stand there with his shirt over his head. ha ha.
LOVE this kid!
We were eating dinner and the waves were crashing harder than they had before, so I told Jethro and Hazel they should run out with the boogie board, so they did.
Beautiful. From morning till night every second is so beautiful.

How beautiful!!! I love beach vacations. I bet it was a blast.
Beautiful! What a great vacation for you and your kids. Looks like the kids really had a great time. Glad you took one of the market (and one of the chocolate bars in previous one) just to see somme of the native items. Love the sunset. Mom
