Obligatory Autumn Post

image

"Come, little leaves,"
Said the wind one day,
"Come over the meadows
With me, and play;
Put on your dresses
Of red and gold;
For summer is gone,
And the days grow cold."

Soon as the leaves
Heard the wind's loud call,
Down they came fluttering,
One and all;
Over the meadows
They danced and flew,
Singing the soft
Little songs they knew.

It’s almost a requirement to have an Ode to Autumn post, isn’t it?  I mean, autumn is beautiful with the colors and golden sunlight, but the main thing is (at least to me) is that you know it’s only going to last such a SHORT time before it’s ugly, miserable, freezing, wet, winter—so you feel you must capture, capture, capture while it lasts . So.  Here are my Ode to Autumn pictures (okay, and a few of my children are in the mix too).  And by the way, this post is too long, but I’m incapable of shortening it.

How far from where you live did you take these photos? I wanted to jump into your pictures. They were so, so beautiful. I just love being outside and I loved your autumn post.
