This afternoon made me happy to my bones.
Remember way back when, when we came to this same creek and little teeny Ethne said, "There's water in my boot!!! It's cold! Coldy coldy coldy." (You really should watch that video, it's funny.) This time water got in her boot again.
Talmage got stuck in the mud. Luckily he has a big sister to save him, or he might be there to this day.
Jethro spent the entire time building a dam. It was a very good dam. I think he might grow up to be a beaver.

If you don't have a bucket, use a boot.
I got this weird sad feeling thinking that someday my kids won't all be little enough to just go play at the creek with me. The idea really was a bit upsetting. I told Brett and he reminded me that when kids grow up there are new exciting things to do with them and talk with them about, and while I understand that and know it's true, I still kind of want to freeze my kids right now. Right now they're so mine, you know? But all the time, other things are taking them farther and farther away from me, and I don't like that thought. I also told Brett we need to have more kids and he said no. Bottom line, I love my kids soooo much and why don't we go to the creek EVERY DAY?

It looks like a wonderful afternoon!!! Sun shining, green grass and water….. a perfect recipe for kids to play. The girls hair is cute. Good job. Love you.
