Riding bikes and a video and stuff.

One day of our home-vacation week we borrowed a bike trailer and baby seat from a friend of ours and went for a bike ride.  I was a little nervous riding with Orrin behind me at first because I haven’t actually ridden a bike for years and years.  Hazel started out on her bike but couldn’t really keep up so she ended up in the trailer with Talmage and Ethne.  Good thing Brett’s perty strong, as he was pulling a heavy load.

We took these pictures with Brett’s new phone, but we didn’t realize at the time that it was on a weird setting, so they were completely blue, which is why I turned them black and white.  It’s a shame since it was a gorgeous blue sky with the yellow wheat (or whatever is in the field).  Overall I’d say family bike rides aren’t my fave.  Too many different abilities/speeds, and even when you’re going downhill it’s not that fun because you’re too worried about your passengers.  But fun for one time.

A while ago I limped for 3 days after stepping on a toy.  Grrr.

My family and Brett’s family (which is my family too, I’m just differentiating) had family reunions.  This year was Brett’s mom and dad’s 40th wedding anniversary, so the grandkids did little skits of stories from their lives.  This was ours that we sent.

I recently put a little post-it note up on the cupboard wall that said ‘To-Do’ at the top with a few things I wanted to not forget.  Well, I noticed one day it said, ‘Make Brett a strawberry-rhubarb pie.’  Ha ha.  So the other day I made an apple pie (there is no rhubarb for sale anymore) and when he came in and saw it he’s like “Wow- you just write it on the list and it happens?!”  :)

Yesterday Jethro was SOOOOOO sweet to Talmage.  He played with him all day.  He walked all the way to the store with him so they could play on the little trains, and then he came home and got his money and went back and bought him a car.  Then they played with the blocks building roads for their cars.  It made my heart so happy.

Today we bought Talmage a mattress.  Now, for the first time in the 18 months that we’ve lived here he will sleep in a real bed instead of a pack and play.  And it’s been probably over a year since we bought bunk beds, and his bunk has just been sitting there empty.  Cause we’re on top of things like that.

I’m listening to this song right now.  Love it.

Orrin is FINALLY eating food!!!!  Eureka!

That’s all I’ve got.  Good night.

I thoroughly enjoyed my catch up on your posts. I liked seeing the pictures of your kids swimming and the crazy amount of change that has happened in them in a year.

You've got great kids!
