Last day in Puno

These few pictures of people were from the day before, walking off the boat. But I felt like a picture on the boat was a better ending to that post.

Back at our hotel, I took a bath, because it had a bathtub, and that was the first opportunity I'd had to have a bath (in HOT water, no less!) since being in Peru. That's a very nice thing.

Okay, so this was actually Sunday morning. We woke up and the didn't have anything "scheduled" until the afternoon, so after the hotel's breakfast, we walked to church.

Everyone in the small ward was super nice and welcoming, and during church Orrin played with this little girl (while Brett napped, apparently ;)).

Then we had time to kill, so we walked around for a while (there was some issue with our hotel getting inspected or something, so we couldn't be there).

We stopped and paid a couple soles to watch kids play soccer just because it was a good place to sit down. Later we got some Chifa for lunch -that's Peruvian Chinese. It was great, and we got SOOO much food which was awesome because then we had leftovers for later.

Then our guide met up with us again and we drove in the van to the Sillustani Ruins, which are pre-Incan burial grounds.  As we were walking up there were a ton of stalls selling the bulls that everyone puts on their roofs here.  I also saw them on top of roofs way more than in Cusco.

Brett was very interested in these. Me... not so much.

Navy is pointing to a snake in the rock.

I asked the van driver to stop at this big Puma, because why not?

This picture is actually so awesome. Everyone did so well--they should all be actors.

After the tour, we had MORE hours to kill until it was time to get on the buses to go back to Cusco. We walked along, ate our leftovers in the plaza, did some dancing (I have great videos of it), etc.

We walked back down to the lake because it seemed like a good idea.

Something kind of fun about being out at night when that's not your norm.

It was pretty cool with all the lights reflecting in the water. Then, exciting surprise--we found an random floating pedal boat, so the boys loaded in and drove it back to the dock. We felt all excited like we were breaking the law or something. haha

I love Jethro back there with his knees up so high. :)

Then we found our way through the streets, and a market that was going on.

They were frying up scones (or cachangas?) and they looked amazing, so we bought some.

Then we got to the bus station and waited for an hour or so until the bus got there. Then we all slept well or slept poorly on the ride home. :)

And that was our Lake Titicaca excursion. Short, but sweet. We loved being on the beautiful water and enjoyed it very much.
