An outing in Cusco with the littles

So we got home and started normal schedule again, with school and work and Jethro and Hazel started their volunteering at the Andino International School.  Before we got to Peru I thought they would be able to volunteer at the Music School that Doug founded, but it just didn't work out. So then I researched a little, and contacted a random international school I found. They were happy to let Jethro and Hazel come and help with English and whatnot. Hazel was shuttled from class to class, but mainly older grades where they were already a little better at English (since she's not fluent in Spanish). I think she felt like she wasn't doing very much or was very useful, but hey--resume builder, right? Jethro worked with second graders (and ended up going on a few dates with the second grade teacher). They would take the school bus in the morning. You'll have to ask them more about what they did in particular, and how they felt about it. :)

Navy made a little nature weaving with things we found at the park.

Afternoons at the park.

This particular day Orrin and Wyatt got a kid to come play with them. They made it up--it was like basketball but with no hoop, so they just had to hit the backboard with the soccer ball. They took turns being on defense and offense and having a teammate. It was cool.

One day I took the three littles out for a walk.

Some little girls living their best lives.

Anytime we happened to see anything Christmasy, it blew my mind. It just didn't feel in any way like Christmastime.

I can't remember the name of the plaza where we got this great view over the Plaza del Armas,

but I paid a couple of soles to go up into the bell tower, which was cool.

I love the picture below. haha

We explored the San Blas area, which is fun and picturesque. This was a pretty wild (but very small) art museum.

And the San Blas Market, which is a million times smaller and cleaner than San Pedro. You don't feel sketch eating here, like you do at San Pedro. :)

We had some Machu Picchu sandwiches which are fantastic. They grill the chicken breast, then the cheese, and add a lot of avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, and a fried egg if you want.

Cuties.

And Navy lost her top tooth!!  So sad--that top teeth changes a little girl to an older girl. :(

But she was excited. :) And the tooth fairy brought her soles under her pillow.

I love Cusco. At least the side of it shown in your pictures. I loved the bell tower especially. So cool.
