The next day we kept driving south. We stopped at Drymades Beach, which was soooo beautiful. It was so awesome to be there in shoulder season because it was so very uncrowded.
Here are some still shots taken from the drone video that Brett took at the Drymades beach. From above you can really see the goooooorgeous color of the water and maybe tell just how clear it was. Since they're just screenshots from the video, the quality isn't as great, but are still worth it since they make me cry tears of beautifulness. :)
I love the little water sparkles dancing on top too.
We didn't do very much exploring at this beach, just kind of chilled and swam in front of where we parked, and we did walk down to the little dock. There was a place that you could go scuba diving because there is a sunken MIG 21 fighter plane that you can go explore.
Then we drove through some more cool parts of Albania
on our way to Gjipe Beach. We parked in a paid lot (just a random guy taking our money and showing us where amongst the trees to park), and hiked down to this gorgeous bay.
Bunker, of course.
Oh my loveliness!!
So, I had read that there is a cave around and farther down the beach, so I set out to swim for it, and I got there, but really it was too far and I wished I hadn't gone all the way. Not because I couldn't make it, but just because it took so long and I was pretty tired by the end. And the cave wasn't that cool, because while it was massive, there were tons of people there (that had arrived by boats).
So that's how we spent our afternoon. Hiking back up was just as beautiful as the way down had been.
Then we drove to our Airbnb and got some dinner. I think our Airbnb was in Himare. It looked like we were going to a really run-down place, but it was fine, actually quite nice when we got inside. All of our Airbnbs were around $30 a night --including all fees and everything. And that is because we are super cheap and it being off-season was possible.
And I added some screenshots from the drone to the last post.
