So I kind of did the same thing with Ethne as I did with Jethro--took her out when it was too bright, but we still got some cute pictures.

Hazel's Harry Potter Birthday Party
Hazel turned 12 and wanted a Harry Potter party. And because she's old enough to plan the whole thing herself, she had one! There are so many ideas on pinterest that the only problem really is narrowing down what you want to do. We did owl invitations like these (this is the picture straight from pinterest because I didn't take a picture of ours):
A friend of mine had a Dobby costume, so I knew that the one thing *I* really needed from this party was a Dobby. He was sooooo adorable!
Hazel made wands along with little tags telling all about them--what they were made of, etc. So the kids first got to pick out their wand.
Then they got sorted (Lindsay Ann mailed us the sorting hat and a few decorations she had still from the reunion).
Then they had Charms class and practiced their levitation charm. (They all just hit balloons while saying 'Wingardium Leviosa.')
Then we had Potions class. They made Gak.
There was even Moaning Myrtle in the bathroom.
We had lunch, then we went out and fought a Boggart or whatever it was...
Then we had cake and Butterbeer.
It was a good party. It was really pretty fun because Ethne and Talmage had finished reading (or were in the middle of reading maybe) the Harry Potter books, and we invited the siblings of Hazel's friends that were their ages, so it was a big group party.
Oh, and p.s. I made Wyatt wear the Dobby costume too. He was not thrilled.
Sad Dobby.
